If you have an urgent mental health support need that requires immediate attention, (e.g. active suicidality, running out of medication, considering hospitalization or a trip to the emergency room), you may call me (please do not send a text message, as I often do not notice these as quickly) any time, day or night; however, I am not able to guarantee that I will always be able to answer immediately or respond on the timeline that works for you. Inner Justice Works is a solo practice, which means I am the only clinician working for this practice at the current time. Because of that, there are times when I am not able to offer urgent support. If you attempt to call me during a crisis and do not get through, please leave a voicemail or text message informing me of the crisis, and (if applicable) any new instructions for how to contact your and/or your emergency contact, and any immediate information, support, or resources needed from me. I am typically able to reply within 24 hours of your contact, as long as I am not on a personal or medical leave.
If you have contacted me during a mental health emergency and are awaiting a response, please continue seeking support as you wait for me to get in touch. Some possible alternative crisis resources you might make use of include:
Trans Lifeline
(800) 565 8860
A peer-to-peer crisis hotline run by and for trans and nonbinary folks. They do not engage in non-consensual “wellness checks” or “active rescue,” and have well-trained, well-supported operators, but resources are limited, and some people report difficulties getting through to someone.
The Trevor Project
(866) 88 7386
The oldest, largest hotline for LGBTQ youth, ages 24 and under. They do engage in non consensual “wellness checks” and “active rescue,” but only rarely.
The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN)
(800) 656 4673
A national hotline offering resources and support for survivors of sexual violence
Love Is Respect
(866) 331 – 9474
The national hotline to support young and young adults navigating dating violence and abuse in intimate relationships

A general resource hotline for Southeast Michigan residents in need of material supports (housing, healthcare, clothing, food, furniture, legal aid, etc.)
Common Ground crisis hotline
(800) 231 1127
Oakland County-based hotline for folks in crisis; but anyone can call, regardless of residency. They will engage in non-consensual “wellness checks” and “active rescue” if they believe you are in danger, but offer a lot of information about local resources.
Avalon Healing
(313) 474 7233
Wayne County’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), provides urgent support to survivors of recent sexual assault, including accompaniment to medical appointments, advocacy for folks considering completion of rape kits, navigation of legal resources to facilitate safety, etc. Special competencies for Black women.
Transgender Michigan
(800) 604 5841
24/7 support for trans/nonbinary and questioning folks, including information about local resources, and crisis support from a trans woman who is also a veteran community organizer, and an experienced clinical social worker
I also work with the Detroit Peer Respite, which lists a page of robust local crisis and peer support resources on their website.
